Testimonials

My daughter has been seeing Joan Murphy, one of the Tri-Town Council adjustment counselors at Masco, for the past four weeks. Joan is such a warm person and so eager to listen to my daughter. My daughter feels like she can trust Joan. My family is going through some difficult times and I am so glad that Joan is there for my daughter - Boxford Resident

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Social Skills series of workshops that were presented last spring. The speaker, Stephanie Meegan, was very informative and gave me some great suggestions on how to help my child in some challenging situations at school, including a bullying incident. - a Topsfield Mom

My children have enjoyed the Horizons after-school classes that have been provided by the Tri-Town Council. My son loved the class called The Academy of Future Space Explorers in which he got to do many hands-on activities while learning about the earth, moon and stars. My daughter enjoyed the theatre workshop class in which the kids got to put on a full local production of "Schoolhouse Rock Live". I especially liked the convenience of the Horizons after-school classes, being located right at their elementary school. At the end of their school day, they would just walk down the hall to their class!  - Mother of three

My son has been seeing his adjustment counselor at Masco, Adam Thurlow, since last year. Adam is always there to talk to my son. Adam has given my son a better and more positive outlook on school and his peers. Sometimes Adam will talk with my son while they casually play basketball in the gym. This is the kind of special attention my son needs to help him get through some challenging times. - A Middleton Family

I think it's wonderful that the Tri-Town Council, along with the Masconomet Health Advisory Council, helped pull together the Mass Youth-At-Risk Behavior survey last spring. The survey was given to hundreds of kids at the Masco middle and high school and its purpose was to obtain information from the kids regarding their participation in risky behaviors, like; alcohol and drug use; sexual activity; depression; self-injury and nutritonal and physical activity levels. The results will help identify strengths and weaknesses in our towns and help guide prevention planning in the schools and the community. Thank you! - A grateful parent
