Tri-Town Council Offers Valuable Services to Families and Youth Who is the Tri-Town Council? The Council is a non-profit human service organization that has been an important resource for families in Middleton, Topsfield and Boxford for over 30 years. The Council’s focus is on the safety and emotional health of our children. This is made possible by an educated and caring staff, as well as by the efforts and hard work of many volunteers and the generosity of the community. A Masconomet Student Board of Directors also contributes their time and ideas to further enrich the Council’s programs and services. The Council’s funding comes through an outsourcing contract with Masco, town budgets, grants, and private donations. Reducing at-risk behavior and improving the emotional health and safety of the Tri-Town youth are of paramount importance to the Council. Families in the Tri-Town area are fortunate to have access to many programs and services available through the Council such as: · A 24/7 Crisis hotline for immediate consultation and referrals (978-771-4619) · On-site counseling at Masconomet · Low cost or no cost professional counseling · Juvenile court-ordered (Diversion) prevention services · DASH Programs (Disability Awareness Starts Here) · Horizons (after school enrichment programs) · Parent support, education and training · Sponsorship of the “All-Night, Substance-Free Graduation Party) There are a lot of exciting things currently in the pipeline at the TTC. Two new members have been elected to the Board of Directors. The Council is very pleased to welcome Peg Bramanti and Doreen Harris, both of Middleton. Both Peg and Doreen bring with them enthusiasm and an abiding dedication to the health, safety, and well-being of Tri-Town youth and families. Two major fundraisers are also in the works for the fall: · The 27th annual Fall Foliage Run, sponsored by the local Rotary club for the benefit of the Tri-Town Council, will be held Sunday, October 21st in Topsfield. Families can also showcase their creative talents at this event by designing and stuffing their own SCARECROW. The Tri-Town Council provides the materials and the participants provide the imagination! Don’t forget to bring the kids to the ABC FAIR--all events take place at the Proctor School on October 21st starting at 11 A.M.! · Another important fundraiser for the Tri-Town Council is the ABC/TTC Community Auction and Dinner being held on November 17th at the Salem Country Club. Very generous donations from local area businesses and community members make for a lively and fun-filled auction. For more information on these fundraisers and other programs being offered in the near future, check out the website at www.tritowncouncil.org, or call 978-887-6512. The successful future of many of the children in the Tri-Town area depends, in part, on the generosity and support of our community. |
