Surviving Stress Together (March 29, 2007)

Stephanie Meegan, a Boxford resident and author of nationally acclaimed programs on peer assertiveness,

self-esteem, peer pressure, and the prevention of abuse and abduction.

Alcohol and Drug Forum (March 1, 2007)

Presentation to 60 parents on how parents/guardians can recognize drug /alcohol use; what to do, how

and when to get help. Also, information on promoting healthy family lifestyles and addressing key

elements necessary to keep kids and teens on track.

Michael Thompson Presentation (January 8, 2007)

500+ came to hear Michael Thompson speak: Dr. Thompson is a psychologist, school consultant, and

author of New York Times bestseller, “Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys,” “Speaking of

Boys: Answers to the Most-Asked Questions about Raising Sons,” and “Best Friends, Worst Enemies:

Understanding the Social Lives of Children.” Co-sponsors: Topsfield Library, PTOs.

All-Night After Graduation Party (June 8, 2007)

An entire night (9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) of fun activities and events for 265 graduating seniors. The party was

also popular with parents, who slept soundly with the knowledge that their son or daughter

was safe on a night renowned for tragedies.

NetSmartz Presentation (October 19, 2006)

Presentation attended by 150 residents on keeping kids and teens safer on the internet. NetSmartz

provides on- and offline learning activities for parents to facilitate discussions with their children and

teens about internet safety.

Stop the Rollercoaster Presentation (March 2, 2006)

Sue Blaney presented methods for raising teens to 150 parents. TTC then provided on-going workshops

for parents, free of charge.

TTC Student Board of Directors educational workshops, including,

⇒ Self-defense;

⇒ Safe driving; and

⇒ Nutrition.

Continuation to support your local town programs, like:

DASH Program (Disability Awareness Starts Here)- This classroom program works with grades 2-5 to

develop the insight necessary to improve attitudes regarding people with disabilities.

Community Giving Tree-A local organization that collects items such as winter coats, children’s toys

and books, bed linens and bath towels, baby equipment, maternity and children’s clothes, etc., and

donates to those in need.

Horizons Program-An after school enrichment program for grades K-6, including courses such as

babysitting, karate, golf, cooking, science, and much more.

Sponsor-A-Child Program-A program that collects new clothes and toys from students K-6 for needy

children during the winter holiday season and also teaches children about the importance of giving.
