About the Event
Adults who understand personal safety principles and practice safety habits with children help them become confident and more self-reliant as they grow older and learn to exercise caution without fear.
The Child-Safe program will address these questions:
How do situations involving risks differ from those involving hazards?
Why is it important to encourage active play that involves age-appropriate risks?
What types of risk-taking can children learn to handle over time?
Why is “Never Talk to Strangers” dangerously misleading for children? What common sense skills can be taught instead?
