TRI-TOWN ROCK BAND: Building Bonds and Breaking Barriers Through Music

Rock Band, a sponsored program of Tri-Town Council, brings together seasoned horn and keyboard players, guitarists and drummers with student musicians with disabilities. The band plays a fun mix of pop and rock songs that will make you want to get up and dance! Because everyone plays, understanding and empathy flourish and we all benefit. Rehearsing and performing side by side, members have developed strong, lasting lasting friendships.

Our unique band was formed in 2016 and is directed by its founder Mrs. Andrea Monty. A music educator for 25 years, she is currently Director of Instrumental Music at the Spofford Pond Elementary School in Boxford, MA and recipient of several awards and grants for inclusive music performance. Mrs. Monty focuses on expanding the concept of “musician” and breaking down barriers that hinder people with disabilities from fully developing their musicality.
