October always seems to come in like a whirlwind—one minute we're just getting used to the school routine, and the next we're knee-deep in activities, Halloween events, the Topsfield Fair, activities, Halloween events, activities… did I mention Halloween events?  You get the picture.

This time of year can feel like a nonstop sprint, and honestly, the only way many of us manage to keep going is by leaning on our village. That’s why this month, we've been working hard to promote and pilot both new and familiar programs designed to help this community feel more connected and supported during these busy, often overwhelming weeks.

This time of year can feel like a nonstop sprint, and honestly, the only way many of us manage to keep going is by leaning on our village.

One program I’m especially excited to announce is a new connection group for parents and caregivers called Coffee Confidential.

But before I dive into the details, I want you to think back to when your children were first born, especially your oldest. Suddenly, you’re being discharged from the hospital with a whole human being and very little clue as to what to do next. Sure, you probably had all the fancy gear everyone told you you needed, rockers, tummy time mats, noise machines, maybe even a pump, but let’s be honest: nothing truly prepares you for those first few days, weeks and even months!

You likely felt overwhelmed, anxious, maybe even a little lost. And for many, that’s when the magic of a new parents’ support group kicked in. You lugged your tiny human to a circle of other equally exhausted new parents, shared stories, asked “Is this normal?”, and left feeling relieved that you weren’t alone.

So why do we stop there?

The truth is, every stage of parenting is new. Each phase brings new worries, questions, and “Is this normal?” moments.

Enter: Coffee Confidential.

This new group is for parents and caregivers of upper elementary, middle, and even high school-aged kids. It’s a chance to gather in a relaxed, welcoming space with others who are in the thick of it, too.

Led by Kerri Russo, founder of TACC Consulting and former licensed School Psychologist, Coffee Confidential offers guided conversations around the questions and challenges that keep us up at night:

  • “Is this behavior normal?”

  • “How do I even start talking to my kid about ___?”

  • “When do we begin thinking about college?”

  • “Why does everything feel so overwhelming right now?”

The truth is, every stage of parenting is new. Each phase brings new worries, questions, and “Is this normal?” moments.

No topic is off-limits, and no judgment—just a space for connection, reflection, and some seriously good coffee.

Our first gathering will be on Thursday, October 24 at 9 AM in the back of Zumi’s. Drop your kids off at school, swing by for a warm drink, and take a breath with us. We’re here, and we’re in it together.

We hope to see you there!
